Historic patio of Dinarjat in Rabat

Our Story

A house, a family, a table

The residence

In the heart of Rabat's medina, opposite the majestic Kasbah of the Udayas, stands a historic residence built in 1908 for one of the city's notable families. Its stone walls, finely carved arches, zellij mosaics and open-air patio reflect centuries of architectural craftsmanship. This house lies at the heart of our family story.

The founder

In 1990, our father, the late Rachid El Guennouni, opened this house to guests from around the world. Together with our mother, he transformed this historic residence into an exceptional restaurant, guided by a simple belief: to share the authenticity and generosity of Moroccan family cuisine, handed down from one generation to the next.

Our grandmother's recipes

At Dinarjat, every dish tells part of our story. Our menu is rooted in recipes inherited from our paternal grandmother. Her slow-cooked tagines, seven-vegetable couscous and milk pastilla carry the memory of a refined Fassi culinary tradition that we preserve with love and pass on with pride.

Lalla Fatima

Today, Lalla Fatima watches over the kitchen alongside us. As guardian of our family tradition, she prepares these recipes with the same care, exacting standards and tenderness as the women who came before her. Through her expertise, our cuisine remains sincere, generous and profoundly Moroccan.

The legacy continues

Today, we carry this story forward together and care for this house with the same love that inspired its beginnings. For us, Dinarjat is more than a restaurant: it is our family table, a place of memory, sharing and life. Each evening, as the lanterns glow and music fills the patio, we share a living part of Moroccan heritage with our guests.
